Detonation or knocking in gas engines

IMG_LM_Lubricantes_767x431

Carbon deposits are responsible for the detonation or knocking that occurs in gas engines, but why does it happen?

Below is a list of the possible causes of this phenomenon in gas engines:

  • High oil consumption
  • Condition of the oil
  • Component temperature too high
  • Quality of the oil (very little resistance to oxidation)

In this context, the function of the lubricant and optimal maintenance of the gas engines are very important.
