The LUBMAT 2016 International Conference, which is organised by the IK4-TEKNIKER Basque Country Technological Centre and the British Institute of the University of Lancashire Jost Institute for Tribotechnology, met its objectives: It brought together 260 professionals from around the world in the industrial lubrication, tribology and advanced maintenance systems sectors on 7 and 8 June in the Euskalduna Conference Centre.
The Basque Regional Government Minister for Economic Development and Competitiveness, Arantxa Tapia, opened the fifth edition of the conference, which included 100 international papers on lubrication management, lubricants and special fluids, asset reliability and management, monitoring the condition of oil and tribology in order to promote knowledge exchange and bring together a network of experts to promote collaboration in a key sector in order to guarantee the competitiveness of the industry.
The conference also had six plenary sessions directly related to the main themes in which experts in the field of lubrication, maintenance and reliability participated. There were 24 professionals from different countries and organisations in the lubrication, maintenance and tribology sector; industry, technology centres and universities formed the international committee that evaluated the abstracts presented during the congress.
The conference also had an exhibition space, where 30 stands exhibited the latest innovations in industrial maintenance and lubrication.
The assessment and closure of the conference was a success. Congratulations!
